Microblading-Semi Permanent Make Up (SPMU) Aftercare
- For 2 to 5 days after the treatment, you may experience flaking, tenderness, dryness and itching. This is normal, and therefore, you are advised not to worry when this process happens
- You should include the following into your daily routine for at least 7 days after the treatment or until the area appears healed. Use a gentle face cleanser and avoid exfoliators and perfumed/ fragranced products on the brows, patting dry very gently with a clean towel or tissue if the area gets wet
- Do not expose the area to extreme heat or extreme cold temperatures until the area has healed, as this could damage the stages of the skin rejuvenating. Areas exposed to excessive UV rays may also see fading
- Please don’t pick, itch or scratch the skin, as the skin is still healing. This could cause infection and/or scarring
- Immediately after the treatment, your brows can appear up to 50% darker. This will start to fade in 4-7 days, and the true colour will not come through until up to 4 weeks after the initial treatment
- Some clients may need to come in for multiple sessions to keep up with maintenance.
- Please don’t use mascaras, eyeliners, eye shadow, fake tanning products or lipsticks during the healing stage
- Hand washing is the single most important method of reducing infection. Hands must be washed before touching the affected area, reducing the risk of infection. Wash your hands in warm water and liquid soap. Always dry your hands thoroughly with a clean towel or paper towel. This should remove and prevent most germs from being transferred to the affected areas. Signs of infection: If appropriate aftercare is not followed, infection may occur
The signs of infection are:
- Swelling and redness that increases around the wound
- A severe burning and throbbing sensation around the site
- Increased tenderness and increasingly painful to touch
- An unusual discharge (yellow or green) with an offensive smell
Speak to your practitioner or seek medical attention immediately if you suffer from any of the above, have any concerns regarding infection, or have any signs of an allergic reaction to any of the products used.
