Rehab Beauty is proud to continue its support of the Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards by again sponsoring the Volunteer of the Year award for 2022. The awards ceremony took place at the Rushcliffe Arena on December 8th, and we were very lucky to attend and present the award to the winner.
The awards recognise the best of the boroughs volunteers, businesses, clubs, organisations, environmentalists, sports clubs and athletes and the best of its health and well-being and food and drink sectors.
The Volunteer of the Year award is given in recognition of an individual or group who gives countless hours and dedication to the Rushcliffe community.
This Years Winner
As I’m sure you can imagine, the Volunteer of the Year category has many deserving entries each year, so creating a shortlist and picking a winner is always a difficult task. However, this year’s winner was John Burnett, who, along with a team of volunteers, runs the Rushcliffe Diabetics Support Group.
The support group is run by local people with Diabetes and aims to bring people together in our local area to share experiences of living with the condition. They also provide advice, information and practical tips about managing and living well with Diabetes.
If you have Diabetes or have been recently diagnosed, the support group meets monthly, and you are welcome to bring along partners, carers or anyone else who help manage your condition.
The group meets from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm on the 4th Wednesday of each month at the West Park Sports Pavilion, West Park, Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, NG2 7JE.
There is a small charge of £2.50 to cover the venue cost, although Tea & Coffee is available at no extra charge.
