Once again, Rehab Beauty was thrilled to be given the opportunity to support the Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards by sponsoring the Volunteer of the Year award for 2023. The awards ceremony took place at the Rushcliffe Arena on November 30th, and the Rehab Beauty team were there to announce the winner of Volunteer of the Year and present the award.
The awards recognise the best of the borough’s volunteers, businesses, clubs, organisations, environmentalists, sports clubs and athletes and the best of its health and well-being and food and drink sectors.
The Volunteer of the Year award is given in recognition of an individual or group who dedicates countless hours to the Rushcliffe community.
This Year’s Winner
The Volunteer of the Year category has many deserving entries, so picking a winner is always a difficult task. This year’s winner was Mark Pinks, who has devoted many years to volunteering, including time as a School Governor and Parish Councillor and, more recently, supporting the NG11 Foodbank in Clifton and co-founding the Ruddington Village Community Partnership.
NG11 Foodbank
The Foodbank, which opened in 2012, is based at the Hope Centre in Clifton and helps local people in crisis by providing three days of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, who are working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK

Ruddington Village Community Partnership
The RVCP works to support the Ruddington community and focuses on well-being and active citizenship. The group run the highly popular Ruddington Village Market, which sees the middle of the village transformed into a bustling sea of market stalls on the first Saturday of every month.
The group has created the Rudd Awards, which celebrate people and achievements in the local Ruddington community, and they are also busy with several other exciting initiatives, including a dementia-friendly event, a community cycle repair pop-up, craft fairs, and social street food events.
